A warm welcome back to all our pupils, parents, carers and friends of the School. It has been a busy but calm week back and all the children have settled wonderfully. We still have a number of new pupils joining us in the coming weeks and we are likely to continue to rise in pupil numbers throughout the year. I have been lucky enough to talk to almost all of the pupils in the first few days and it seems that everyone is happy to be back to the routine and familiarity of Llanedeyrn Primary School life.
You may have heard your children talking about the School’s new ‘Core Values’. These are a set of values that we want all members of the Llanedeyrn Primary School Community to encompass. The five values are:-
You may have seen the new umbrella image which shows the first four values in sections on the top of the umbrella. The handle shows ‘Be Outstanding’. This is because we want our stakeholders to ‘Be Outstanding’ in each of the the other four Core Values.
Children have been introduced to these values in the first week and we will now be looking at how we can demonstrate these values at different times of the school day and in different areas of the school building. How will we ‘Be Safe’ in the dinner hall? How will we ‘Be Responsible’ in the cloakrooms? This way there will be very clear expectations for everyone.
We have had very positive feedback from the children about the values and we will continue to look at their impact throughout the year.
Please continue to follow us on Twitter and Facebook and remember that the Parent Calendar is now available on our School website.
I am sure we will have another fun-filled year of excellent learning at Llanedeyrn Primary School and I look forward to working with you all in line with our school motto:-
‘Together we can all Succeed’
