Good attendance is a key part of this, but we also know that there are often very real reasons why it can be difficult for some children to attend every day.<\/p>\n\n        <p>We are pleased to let you know that we are taking part in the <strong>Inclusive Attendance<\/strong> approach. This is a way of working that focuses on relationships, understanding and early support. Instead of looking only at attendance percentages, we talk with you and your child to understand what is happening and how we can help.<\/p>\n\n        <p>Inclusive Attendance encourages us to:<\/p>\n        <ul>\n          <li>listen carefully to children and families about what is making attendance harder<\/li>\n          <li>work together to agree small, realistic steps to improve things<\/li>\n          <li>look at the whole picture, including health, well-being, additional learning needs and family circumstances<\/li>\n          <li>celebrate improvements, even when progress is gradual<\/li>\n        <\/ul>\n\n        <p>We will continue to monitor attendance, but any conversations we have will focus on support rather than blame. If we are worried about your child\u2019s attendance, we will contact you to talk things through and to explore what might help.
