Llanedeyrn Primary School we are using Eco-Schools to give our pupils a real voice and to make positive\n    changes in everyday school life.\n  <\/p>\n\n  <!-- ACCORDIONS -->\n  <div What is Eco-Schools? -->\n    <details class=\"eco-acc\" open>\n      <summary>\n        <span class=\"eco-acc-title\">What is Eco-Schools?<\/span>\n        <span class=\"eco-acc-icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span>\n      <\/summary>\n      <div class=\"eco-acc-body\">\n        <p>\n          Eco-Schools helps children to learn about the environment and to take action in their own School.\n          Schools follow seven simple steps, including forming an Eco-Committee, carrying out an environmental review\n          and creating an action plan.\n        <\/p>\n        <ul class=\"eco-star-list\">\n          <li>Pupils lead the work and share their ideas.<\/li>\n          <li>Everyone learns how small changes can make a big difference.<\/li>\n          <li>Schools can work towards Bronze, Silver and Green Flag awards.<\/li>\n        <\/ul>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n    <!-- 2. How we achieved Bronze -->\n    <details class=\"eco-acc\">\n      <summary>\n        <span class=\"eco-acc-title\">How we achieved the Bronze Award<\/span>\n        <span class=\"eco-acc-icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span>\n      <\/summary>\n      <div class=\"eco-acc-body\">\n        <p>To achieve Bronze, we completed the first Eco-Schools steps together:<\/p>\n        <ul>\n          <li><strong>Eco-Committee<\/strong> \u2013 pupils from different classes joined our Sustainability Squad to lead the work and share ideas.<\/li>\n          <li><strong>Environmental review<\/strong> \u2013 we looked carefully at areas such as energy, waste, litter, school grounds and transport to see what was going well and what needed to improve.<\/li>\n          <li><strong>Action plan<\/strong> \u2013 we chose key projects to focus on during the year and planned how to make them happen.<\/li>\n          <li><strong>Whole-school involvement<\/strong> \u2013 classes joined in with activities, assemblies and themed weeks.<\/li>\n        <\/ul>\n        <p>Our Sustainability Squad keeps an eye on our progress and helps to remind everyone about our Eco-Schools promises.<\/p>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n    <!-- 3. Some of our Bronze projects -->\n    <details class=\"eco-acc\">\n      <summary>\n        <span class=\"eco-acc-title\">What we have done so far<\/span>\n        <span class=\"eco-acc-icon\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/span>\n      <\/summary>\n      <div class=\"eco-acc-body\">\n        <p>Here are some examples of the projects that have helped us achieve the Bronze Award:<\/p>\n        <ul class=\"eco-star-list\">\n          <li><strong>Energy<\/strong> \u2013 \u201cTurn it down\u201d checks in classrooms, lights and boards off when not needed and reminders to close doors.<\/li>\n          <li><strong>Waste<\/strong> \u2013 more recycling in classrooms and shared areas, and talking about re-using resources before throwing things away.<\/li>\n          <li><strong>School grounds<\/strong> \u2013 caring for our outdoor spaces, planting and looking after wildlife areas where possible.<\/li>\n          <li><strong>Learning<\/strong> \u2013 linking climate change and caring for the planet into class topics, assemblies and special events.<\/li>\n        <\/ul>\n        <p>Most importantly, pupils are taking the lead by spotting problems, sharing ideas and encouraging others to join in.<\/p>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n    <!-- 4. You can help by:<\/p>\n        <ul>\n          <li>Talking with your child about the changes we are making in School.<\/li>\n          <li>Encouraging simple actions at home such as switching off lights, sorting recycling and reducing waste.<\/li>\n          <li>Walking, cycling or scooting to School where possible.<\/li>\n          <li>Sharing any ideas or expertise you have that could support our future Eco-Schools projects.<\/li>\n        <\/ul>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/details>\n\n    <!-- 5.
