Estyn visited Llanedeyrn Primary School to review progress against two recommendations from the previous core inspection.
- Improve the quality of teaching to ensure that all pupils make effective progress.
- Ensure that monitoring and development processes identify all important priorities and secure effective improvement.
What did Estyn say about teaching and learning?
Estyn highlighted that leaders have established a clear, shared vision for teaching and learning, which is understood by staff and is helping to secure increasingly consistent classroom practice.
The report also noted that professional learning and coaching are well targeted and effective, helping staff build confidence, knowledge and pedagogical understanding.

- Staff in both mainstream and the Special Resource Base adapt learning well to meet pupils’ needs.

- The headteacher empowers leaders to carry out self-evaluation purposefully while building leadership capacity.
